” ATM – 提款機 ” (2015) MOVIE REVIEW. And the 27th February Malaysian Press Conference
“Don’t everyone deserve a second whiff of Spring?”
At a recent media screening of this film, this Reviewer was tickled pink to espy two critics debating a floating opinion. The consensus? “ATM is a heartwarming movie that everybody whose aged parents are still living should watch, that FILIAL PIETY is an everyday’s affair. It is not just about “balek kampong” for the annual REUNION DINNER, it’s more than just that. But to tag a secondary plot revolving a hunt for an ATM machine which was fradulently stolen and then clumsily lost is silly though.”How would it be possible for an ATM machine with stacks of dollar notes simply disappear without a trace with nobody even asking for the return?”
PRETTY GIRL and the SENIOR CITIZENS SHARING LIGHTER MOMENTS. There are always FUN TIMES and CAMARADERIE in the old age home. Who dare assert that friendship cannot be forged here?
RICKETY TREASURE HUNT for the long lost ATM Machine, the finding would mean a new lease of LIFE for the incumbents. Provided unreported findings of treasures can be waived.
CHA CHA CHA performed in AEROBICS by an energetic senior citizen.
Former Mob sifu brother FEI PENG falls in love with widow SISTER MUI adding a welcome respite of a blossoming old-school romance to the story.

At least UNCLE JIN CHENG finds closure in a loving god daughter before the entire group gets disbanded.
SYNOPSIS
Ah-Lok (Kelvin Kwan), Bo Zai (C. Kwan) and Ming Ming (Joanna Yew) have been inseparable buddies since university days. Ah-Lok harbors a dream of becoming a musician, but in reality how can anyone make a decent living busking on the streets?
Ming Ming wants to break off with Ah Lok as she cannot accept a life of insecurity, confident that he will never be able to afford a house of his own.
Having grown up in a single-parent household after her parents divorced, Ming Ming comes to equate security with money.
Despite their best efforts, all three friends remain unemployed.
As fate would have it, they become entangled in an ATM robbery.
Ah Lok, Ming Ming and Bo Zai used to believe the “no money, no talk” doctrine. To the trio, MONEY IS EVERYTHING.
However in the old age home, all of them are basking in sunshine days, understanding and support from the senior citizens.
With the old age home facing a fate of being sold, it is therefore a race against time to locate the missing ATM machine in order to save the home.
Will they succeed in the task?

In this movie, Ha Yu serves as producer and actor.
Producer Ha Yu eyed Joanne Yew from the very beginning as he sees great potential in fielding her to be a Malaysian export.
As a veteran actor Ha Yu is game to try anything to improve the quality of the movie. A fine example would be on how he tackled dementia when his screen character is already in the throes of Alzheimer disease as he tackles the plight of an urgent need to use the toilet. Unable to control his bowels, he poops in his pants.
Then he bawled like a baby.

” DRAGON BLADE – 天將雄師 ” (2015) Movie Review. Plus Press Conference.
It has finally arrived, the much-touted JACKIE CHAN’s actioner targeting to bridge creative culture between the East and West by way of this awesome media presentation.
It’s either you love this film.
Or you simply loathe it.
Either way JACKIE CHAN is laughing all his way to the bank.
He’s China’s most bankable star in terms of dollars and cents.
Now you decide!
In brief, DRAGON BLADE is a hellava bold ancient war epic embodying sprawling war fields shot on eagle eye's view from thousands of feet above the clouds in widescope, liken to lord-of-the-ring’s raging modus operandi.
Some critics affirm the likelihood. There are a minor few who beg to differ.
Toplined by a bankable east-and-west team of Jackie Chan tagging John Cusack and Adrien Brody, film director Daniel Lee executes a colossal entertainment with spellbinding sight and sound.
The plot is secondary.
” We hereby pledge that ALL MEN ARE BROTHERS. But heck, there’s a traitor among us! Who, Sir?”

DRAGON BLADE is an ambitiously written project directed by Daniel Lee and stars Jackie Chan. In the film, Chan plays Huo An, the commander of the Protection Squad of the Western Regions during the Han Dynasty.
If you follow closely the gossip mills, it is touted as the most expensive Chinese-language movie ever produced in the Asian cinematic history, reportedly shot at an unbelievable $65 million-budget.
Jackie Chan plays Huo An, a commander of the Protection Squad assigned by the emperor of the Han Dynasty to maintain peace and order among the warring tribes in the Silk Road region. When Huo An and his fellow soldiers are accused of treason by jealous parties, they end up being imprisoned in a labour camp and forced to work as slaves.
Soon came General Lucius (John Cusack), who aids s a blind boy named Publius (Jozef Waite) with his legion of loyal Roman army culled from Publius’s treacherous older brother, Tiberius (Adrien Brody).
As the Romans are approaching at the labour camp, the Chinese border guards try to stop them but are hopelessly outmatched.
However, Huo An manages to turn things around by defeating Lucius during a one-on-one sword fight.
As a result, both of them gain mutual respect for each other. And in return for Huo An’s hospitality extended to the small Roman army, Lucius helps in building the fort within the labour camp.
Here the PLOT in a nutshell.
The other supporting characters are only playing second fiddle to beef up the tale.
For K-pop fans, they might be disappointed to find that Choi Si-won (Super Junior member) has only limited screen presence.
The cast and crew naturally encounter difficult filming conditions due to the intense heat, heavy costumes and exhausting long working hours. Filming is no fun, man.
The final act is argued as a take-off from The Hobbit where armies of warring countries arrive at an opportune time when Huo An’s troops are facing defeat.
Flying eagles are used as well, although they’re not as overpowering as the ones in The Hobbit.
After an uncompromising lavish of logic and battle cries, the ultimatum has arrived for a climatic one-on-one fight scene with the foe.

“LUCKY STAR 2015 – 吉星高照 2015 ” Movie Review. This is a "feel-good" film that seeks only to entertain EVERYONE during this Chinese New Year. And entertain it does, with no hidden messages. JUST SIT BACK AND ENJOY THE SHOW!
ERIC TSANG, Hong Kong’s Kingpin of raucous satire breezes into town recently to promote his latest comedy called “LUCKY STAR 2015″。Hopefully my stars shine brightly after the show.

PLOT LINE:
“Lucky Star 2015″ is a Chinese New Year comedy film. It is a slapstick.
It boasts an ensemble cast featuring Eric Tsang, Wong Cho-lam, Ella Chen from S.H.E, Dada Chan, King Tan Yuen and Yuen Qiu.
The film is about a blur blob Wong Cho-Lam who has been invited to perform at a party of a local tycoon. He brings along a motley of look-alike artistes for his show.
However, the local tycoon sees through his trick.
And the hilarious merry-go-round of mistaken identities begin.
It is a “FEEL GOOD” movie specially crafted for the young-and-old alike.
