PUTTING MY BEST FOOT FORWARD IN 2013.

THIS ZODIAC YEAR OF THE SNAKE,

I SHALL BE PUTTING MY BEST FOOT FORWARD.

 LIFE’s a BITCH, ain’t it always?

Try telling me otherwise.

The steady or chaotic rhythm that comes with life struggles will surely depend on the choices we make, on whether we gonna remain steadfast or fickle in our directions.

Sure, I want the best out of life, don’t everybody?

Talk is cheap stuff, practicality will always be a tough act to follow.

LIFE is a rollercoaster paved with “road diversions” to lure us away, to distract us from staying focused.

There will be clingy leeches under guise of “friends” who will swarm around us, draining us of our time, energy and resources. Write these off.

LIFE comprises of capricious “moments” that are elusive. We acknowledge this a million times.

These “little angels” dangle in front of us teasingly, and as silently as they come, they flicker away in a jiff. CATCH !

Owe your lofty aspirations to no one but YOURSELF.

Work hard. Live hard.

Relish anything you aspire, as long as your ideals do not trample on anybody, or hurt them emotionally or physically.

Danger is invisible, it lurks behind a facade, so be cautious, play safe.

I am not an advocate on the subject of LOVE.

But I read somewhere that love is not something we give or get.

It is something that we nurture and grow, a connection that can only be cultivated between two people who really care about each other.

We can only love others as much as we love ourselves.

LIFE’s a BITCH, but we’ve to go on trying, falling, picking ourselves up, and trying again.

Finally, think PEACE.

Peace of the world, peace of the mind.

 LIFE’S REAL.

So get real, folks.

FRIENDSHIPS. All over the World (An Old Article Revisited)

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Right?

What are FRIENDS for?

Cross over, chum.

Let’s unite to do whatever little

to turn this desolate world into a better abode.

For YOU.

For ME.

For US.

FRIENDSHIP IS ONE REAL WORD.

It is not strapped with a life-time warranty.

But while we are at it,

let’s try to make it last.

SPREAD the MILK of KINDNESS. It’s easier SAID than DONE.

Here’s A PENNY for your THOUGHTS.

DON’T YOU BELIEVE IN SPREADING THE MILK OF KINDNESS?

Kindness can be milked in any of us.

Just give this notion a nod.

Many a time, we are sure to come across a myriad of inspiring pick-me-ups.

In books, online media, whatever,

by budding writers or bored celebrities attempting to fill up pages of their impressive blogs.

They admonish you to be this gentler person, to love, to care …..

by not forgetting to do a good deed, to pass the baton of kindness.

The list can go on.

Yeah, I wish I can be such a jolly person, wondrous and rare.

Yeah, I want to be kind.

Yeah, I wish I can be an angel.

Yet I have witnessed before, religious persons doing despicable deeds such as a pastor absconding with the church’s funds many years back.

Why did he do that?

I thought he was great on the pulpit ….. preaching the Sunday sermons.

I lost faith.

I had watched a husband-and-wife team teaching the gospel and thence, when your back is turned, they would say the most hurtful things.

That’s PAST tense now.

They are no longer my friends,

after so many horrible incidents.

To err is human, ahh?

Maybe I was the complete idiot, always at the wrong place, at the wrong time.

But events like these sapped my confidence and made me the skeptic I am now.

This is truly, a world of oxymorons where you wear two faces

because you never know what to expect – much less, who you can trust sometimes.

Look after yourself well, lest when you fall hard and flat, you are lucky if you get offered any helping hand.

In this busy world where money maketh more money,

everyone is too busy taking care of oneself.

And which idiot says money is not everything?

Maybe so, if your wallet is forever flowing with wads of dollar notes.

Have you been to third world countries and witness mass starvation and deprivation?

There you’ll learn that every morsel of food counts and that wastage is a banned word.

Money is not everything, it can’t buy true love, but it is a means to get to that far end.

In the corporate world, money talks or else, what is smart business all about?

The good guys?

Sure, but you can find them – few and far between.

Family is the only one thing we should cherish and embrace, because blood is often thicker than water.

True friends anyone can count with one’s fingertips.

TODAY, I have come across another wise preaching:

Those who choose to live in peace must help their neighbors to live in peace.

Those who choose to live well must help others to live well, for the value of a life is measured by the lives it touches.

And those who choose to be happy must help others to find happiness, for the welfare of each is bound up with the welfare of all.

You must love yourself before you love another.

By accepting yourself and fully being what you are,

your simple presence can make others happy.

To love is to risk not being loved in return.

To hope is to risk pain.

To try is to risk failure,

but risk must be taken because

the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

Often we feel life has done an injustice to us.

We feel that we are deprived of good luck, fortune and happiness.

We crave for what we don’t have and forget to pay any heed to the blessings we have carelessly dumped in our pockets…

So you are swarmed with goodness to gracious.

And you are ready to spread the milk of kindness, chum?

A SOUL-SEARCHING PIECE by GEORGE CARLIN, Comedian of the 70s and 80s.

Here's a pretty TOUCHING PIECE by GEORGE CARLIN.

I shall say:
"May all Beings of this UNIVERSE be well and happy."

You retort:
SAY IT, MEAN IT, FEEL IT.

NOW, back to our great guy GEORGE CARLIN.
Isn't it amazing that this wonderful - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate.

GEORGE CARLIN stipulates:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

THANKS GEORGE, for this awe-inspiring speech.

SOMETIMES, IT'S COMFORTING TO PREACH THE GOSPEL. BUT, REALLY, EVERYTHING IS EASIER SAID THAN DONE .....

ARE YOU HAPPY TODAY?

Did you spread a little kindness?

Here are some rambling thoughts we hold so dear.

But everything is easier said than done, right?

"Our life is what we make it by own thoughts and deeds.

Thus it is through our own thoughts that a man rises or falls."

"It should constantly be remembered that no enemy can harm one so much as one's own evil thoughts and craving.

These are our inner enemies who follow us day and night, and from whom we must try to keep away."

"Man himself is responsible for his own happiness and misery. He creates his own heaven and hell. He is master of his own destiny, child of his past and parent of his future."

"The past is the background against which life goes on from moment to moment, the future is yet to be. Only the present moment exists, and the responsibility of using the present moment for good or evil lies with each individual."

DON'T WORRY. BE HAPPY!

RAINBOW

LIFE isn't as we all expect,

It doesn't go that way, for sure,

We have to make the most of it,

And take it day by day.

So Don't Worry,

Smile,

BE HAPPY!

Spread a little sunshine,

Say a kind word,

Create some joy from strife,

Today we live life,

Tomorrow?

Come what may.

WORLD without WOES.

THE WORLD IS GETTING TO BE ONE HELL OF A ROTTEN PLACE TO LIVE IN.

GLOBAL warming, conflicts, political strife, inflations, economic recessions, power struggles, terrorism, civil wars, greed, cruelty....

HEADLINES like these scream for attention, from the media and internet every day, making us quiver with disbelief.

We go to temples and churches to preach our sermons, and then leave afterwards to plunder our own mankind, thus creating a paradox of ideals.

Will the world end one day?

It's anybody's guess.

Anyway, let's do our part to infuse some cheer in this senseless world of slaughter and mayhem.

SO MANY GODS,

SO MANY CREEDS,

SO MANY PATHS THAT WIND AND WIND.

WHEN THE ACT OF BEING KIND,

IS ALL THIS SAD WORLD NEEDS.

Maybe there's a kinder world up there, over the rainbow...A WORLD WITHOUT WOES.

Only time can tell.
